Football University in cooperation with Eastbay sponsors a national youth football tournament in which 64 teams and over 6,000 athletes compete. Las Vegas fielded three teams for tournament, one each in the 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade division. Games are held all over the country with the finals being held in the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX, January 4-6, 2013. For more information about the tournament, see: http://www.footballuniversity.org/fbunc.

It is our pleasure to tell you that the 7th grade team won their opening round games in Las Vegas this past weekend. This team will be advancing to play their next games in Reno, NV, December 14-16, 2012. Should the team win these games, they will advance to play in the finals in the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. Such a trip is expensive and given the economic conditions that have plagued Las Vegas of recent years, the team is in need of help to make this trip.

Here are the expenses that the team is facing in order to make this trip this weekend:

$8000 for two 50-passenger buses for the team, coaches, and family

$450 for practice fields with lights here in Las Vegas for this week

$3000 for 20 rooms at the Grand Sierra Resort

$11,450 total

Additional monies could be used to cover the costs of food for the bus trip and while in Reno. Currently, the team has received donations for water, Powerade, and chips for the trip.

With the Christmas holiday season in full swing, a $100 donation would help cover the travel costs for an athlete. Donations of more will be applied to travel costs for the entire team. Please note that ALL donations are tax deductible.

The team set their goal to reach the games in Reno. I am setting our goal to raise $11,000 to pay for this trip. Can we count on your support? Time is of the essence! Contact us now!
