Pac-12 schools would be wise to track the progress of several members of the 16-U Las Vegas Prospects and Team Superstar squads. The Las Vegas Prospects were highly successful as a 15-U team last year, and are doing well this spring, and Team Superstar has emerged with several D-1 prospects from central and northern California.

Among the D-1 prospects in the game, 6′-0″ Shaquile Carr showed prototypical point guard skills for the Prospects. He isn’t physically imposing, but he set up his teammates, created scoring opportunities, and showed heads-up play. In fact, Carr deflected a late pass by Team Superstar to secure the 58-54 win. The Las Vegas Prospects had a team effort, and at times went with a five guard lineup which was effective as it included ball movement and tough defense. Wing Justin Burks also had some nice flashes, with an ability to shoot and finish near the hoop.

For Team Superstar, their duo of forwards Malik Pope and Fatai Eke both showed unique areas of competence. While Pope probably has a future as a power forward, he preferred to show his handle and movement in transition. He’s slender with long arms at 6′-7″, and is long on potential. While Eke isn’t there offensively yet, he’s a tough and strong defensive presence with a nose for blocking shots. Eke is physically mature and has a motor.

Others that caught their eye:

•Cody Martin, 6′-6″, 2014, SF, Team Loaded/Davie County (NC)
•Caleb Martin, 6′-6″, 2014, SF, Team Loaded/Davie County (NC)
•D’ Angelo Allen, 6′-5″, 2014, SF, Dallas Showtyme 16/Kimball (TX)
•Omar Sherman, 6′-8″, 2014, C, Texas Select/Duncanville (TX)
